Hi, my name is Jozef Hindicky, front-end and back-end web developer based in Bratislava. I am passionate about building user-friendly and functional websites, whether it's a small local business website or a large e-commerce store.
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." - Pele
I currently work full time for a local agency as Lead Web Developer, managing a small team of in-house and external developers. My duties involve client facing, taking briefs and deciding on best platforms to meet client needs within their available budget. I finished my MSc studies in Advanced Web Technologies course in September 2015, this helped me to broaden my skill set as well as to explore new opportunities in the industry. I love travelling, enjoy visiting places I have never been to and meeting new people, while getting to know different cultures and traditions.
I am a great believer in what I do, passionate individual who likes to constantly gain new knowledge and improve on current skillset. I am a self-taught developer with large portfolio of quality work under my belt.
Having worked at JGM for almost two years, I have been responsible for the development stage of each project ensuring strict adherence to brief specifications, timescales and industry standards while providing support to clients and working alongside Lead Web Designer and Project Managers.
I successfully completed six modules and gained University credits to proceed onto the final dissertation project, I chose to develop a user-friendly and functional reporting system for students as well as academic and non-academic members of staff.
I built my first website at the age of 15 when I discovered a passion for web development. From then on I have worked for many clients across Europe and managed to built strong relationships with businesses delivering high standard of online marketing solutions to meet their demands.
This course enabled me to deepen my skillset and knowledge and helped me to discover new areas in online and offline marketing. I obtained professional guidance and assistance from specialists while improving on my expertise, which is something I still continue to strive on.
My duties involved working on a large variety of client websites ensuring they all meet SEO standards deemed appropriate by the company at that time. I took part on many web development projects ensuring the best user experience and eye pleasing web design is in place.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s proven English language test provided by British Council, which is the UK's international organisation for educational opportunity and cultural relations and is represented in 107 countries worldwide.
I specialise in bringing beautiful web browsing experiences to life. I enjoy working as an individual or in a team of skilled developers while liaising with designers. "Move it a couple of pixels to the left" is one of the sentences that is often said and over the years I have built up a strong understanding for this comment. My duty is to put together a strong web presence for your business which not only has to work perfectly, it has to be intuitive enough for visitors to understand how to go about finding what they need and more importantly why.
I am always on look out for an opportunity to learn and be part of a dynamic team. I am eager to be involved at every step of the project, scoping the best solutions for our clients while working alongside user experience designers, project managers, strategists and other developers to implement, test, and debug. Having helped the agency I work for to successfully improve on their current IT set up, i.e. moving emails to a new more advanced platform which greatly benefited everyone, managing the process of data transfers to a new NAS drive with automatic backups and many more, I believe I have a great commercial awareness - I have an interest in business and an understanding of the wider environment in which an organisation operates.
I officially call myself a Front-end Developer, however I have some experience in web design as well being comfortable working with Adobe Photoshop and understanding of beautiful user experience designs.
SEO changes and constantly evolves, I have built up years of knowledge in this area and keep an eye on all the updates and trends in this field.
While working at JGM agency I was presented with a challenge to build a Objective-C based iOS application, having had no previous experience in this field. In the end I managed to deliver an extensive and comples app developed to high standard.
Programming is one of the fields where experience matters and in order to become a better coder, it is important to code more and constantly improve my skills. I often look at solutions other developers have done which helps me to see the code from different point of view and improve my skills.
6 years of experience building websites, using the latest HTML5 markup language, SASS/LESS CSS extension languages with responsive design in mind.
WordPress is my favourite platform, I can almost literally make it dance if you want me to, adding Magento alongside it brings both fantastic content and shop management systems.
Having studied OOP at the university and using PHP as part of my commercial experience, I can come up with great solutions to any programming issues.
